Sedgemoor Ringing Centre

Latest news.
Ringing at the Sedgemoor Ringing Centre is suspended until Spring 2020 due to the augmentation of our bells from the current ring of eight to a ring of thirteen.
Thank you for your interest and hope to see you later this year.

Would you like to ring tower bells?

For a guided tour of the bells and a ringing taster session please use the contact form below.

The Sedgemoor Ringing Centre at St Mary's is the nominated training tower for the Bridgwater branch and surrounding area.

Association of Ringing Teachers
We have a computerised bell ringing aid and a fully trained ringing teacher from the Association of Ringing Teachers (ART). You will be enrolled on the Learning the Ropes (LtR) scheme which teaches you to handle a bell before moving on to ringing in a band with other ringers.

Our current activity consists of:
Tuesday 1.30 - 3.30pm Bridgwater U3A tower bell ringing group.
Tuesday evening 6.00 - 7.00 basic handling
Tuesday evening 7.00 - 8.00 advanced handling.
Wednesday 1.30 - 3.30pm Bridgwater U3A hand bell ringing group.
These sessions have helped ringers from the Bridgwater Branch and beyond.
1 to 1 teaching session during the week are by arrangement.
We are also supporting the newly established band of ringers at Spaxton who practice in their own tower on Wednesday evenings after learning to ring here.

Are you a competent ringer who would like to become a Ringing Teacher, if so get in touch to begin the process.
